Masturbation---general questions

I once listened to an audio program about overcoming porn addiction (but not Inner Gold).  The author seemed to be saying that masturbation should be avoided.  But how could a guy completely abstain from that?  In the short tern, okay.  But what if a guy goes through a dry spell in his dating and doesn't have a girlfriend for a long time?

Also, some people will tell you that it's not a good thing to fantasize about a particular woman when you masturbate.  What are you supposed to do, think about Ronald McDonald?

this is why i am grateful for the innergold program in my life because there are so many people out there saying things but they don't tell you how to deal with it. innergold has taught me how to learn to manage my addiction and when i get those urges, i recognize that my addict wants to act out and i change directions, immediately!

i personally don't think intimacy should engage until your married but that is my personal beliefs. i know once you start down the road with intimacy it tends to take over the relationship and becomes the main focus.

I was wondering if any else experienced low or no sex drive  and E.D. because of your porn addiction?
If so, is it gone for good or is there hope?

there's hope but it takes some time. i found that going back to how i treated my wife when i was younger has helped. date and be romantic. men sometimes lose this and this is what can naturally increase our attraction to our wives and create real intimacy.
